Description:
Delta Center for Independent Living currently has an opening for a full-time Transportation Advocate. Qualified individuals must meet the following criteria:
• 60 college credit hours with 2 years full-time relevant paid job experience ($13.20/hr) OR Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year full-time relevant paid job experience ($13.70/hr)
• Proven familiarity with Microsoft Word
• Type 35 wpm
• Effective public speaker
• Able to manage interruptions and multiple priorities
• Excellent telephone demeanor and ability to communicate
• Transportation to consumers’ homes and outreach locations with 24 hours notice
• Experience in working with individuals with disabilities, preferred
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Conduct intakes by phone and in the community, including in consumers’ homes
• Case management including documentation of case notes in computer database
• Book and verify transportation requests, troubleshoot problems
• Adhere to grant guidelines, track data, complete reports
• Develop “Speakers’ Bureau” and accompanying information handouts
• Work in conjunction with Transit Authority to educate taxpayers about need for public transportation
• Reconcile monthly billing and reporting statements
Delta Center offers paid sick days, holidays, vacation days and medical stipend. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
