the city of Warrenton and the surrounding region.
Welcome, You are visitor number:
What is the
Chamber of Commerce?
The Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit
voluntary organization of businesses and professional men
and women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting
the general welfare and prosperity of the Warrenton area.
Emphasis is given to the economic, civic, educational, and
commercial interests in the promotion of the area.
Objectives of the Chamber
Why Should You Join the Chamber of Commerce?
Networking
The Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce holds a monthly general
membership meeting where businesses are given the opportunity
to network and hear guest speakers. The Chamber of Commerce
has several events throughout the year including an annual
Trivia Night to benefit college scholarships for our area
senior high school students, a Golf Tournament in May, and
a Home & Garden show, as well as Chamber After-Hours
social events providing many business-to-business networking
opportunities.
Promotion
Advertising opportunities exist in publications such as
the membership directory, the Chamber Chatter newsletter,
and this web site. Members receive plaques and window stickers
that show your customers and clients that you are a member
of the Chamber. Free advertising comes through Chamber referrals
and the Chamber web site
Information
Chamber membership luncheon meetings are held on a monthly
basis with timely and lively speakers who provide you with
the "news you can use". The Chamber also welcomes
new residents and provides them with community information.
Improve the Local Community
Chamber member businesses are "preferred" businesses
because they make the commitment to the purposes of the
Chamber - promotion of the civic, commercial, and education
prosperity of the community and the region. Chamber members
promote job readiness for youth, efficient public services,
a positive business climate, and solid customer service.
Chamber members are the source of action that drives the
organization; they are leaders and participants, ambassadors,
and supporters, and business advocates before government
agencies.
Tourism
The Chamber actively promotes tourism to the Warrenton
area by providing tourist packets, brochures, and listings
in the Missouri Tourism guide.
Government
Being part of the Chamber is a chance to learn about the
legislative issues at the local and state level. The Chamber
also sponsors a Meet the Candidate Night, where you can
hear the candidates speak and ask the questions that concern
you. The First Economic Development Breakfast was held in
November 2005, and now will be an annual event with the
continuing growth of Warren County.
Referrals
Our office is staffed 5 days a week and we process numerous
telephone calls and requests for information about businesses
in our area. As a member of the Chamber, your business has
top priority on our referral list.
Committees
A committee system is the most effective means of harnessing
energies and abilities of volunteer workers in order to
better serve our members and the community.
Long Range Plan
In October 2001, the Board of Directors and participating
Chamber members embarked on a project to ensure the future
success of the Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce. The document
is the culmination of their efforts and will be referred
to as a long-range/planning document. Download the Long
Range Plan.
